Tomorrow Lord
How easy it is to miss a day or two And then it turns to three
To miss a day of praying Or saying “how I love thee”
How easy it is to let them slip So unnoticed as hurriedly we go;
Amid the clamor of our busy lives How difficult it is to know
The quiet peaceful solitude That only your presence brings
To separate myself to you To take my mind off things
And put them on a beautiful sky Or the petals of a rose
To soak up the morning’s freshness Or the beauty of each day’s close
To see the colors and the hues So subtle to the eye
But really so magnificent When I know that I
Have inherited all of that From my Father who loves me so
He cares for me so greatly That I should tell Him “No”!
I won’t spend time with you today I’m busy don’t you see
I’ll do it first thing tomorrow I really will, you’ll see
I’ll set my alarm early And spend some time with you
For I have good intentions I really really do!
I’ll just finish this one last thing Before I go to bed
Oh my, it’s after midnight Now my body’s feeling dead
I crawl into bed knowing Full well that I’ll get up
As soon as the alarm goes off and I get myself a cup
The next thing that I know I hear this awful noise
What is it? Oh, the alarm clock As my hand rests poised…
Atop the snooze button To give it a little press
“Just five more minutes is all I need Lord
I really need my rest “Zzzzzzzz”
