Alone
I know you feel alone at times, as if I can’t be found,
But I will never ever leave, I’ll always be around.
You see, I know what it means, to really be alone,
To feel the cold, cold emptiness, that chills you to the bone.
The ones I loved and trusted, turned and ran away,
They denied they ever knew me, when questioned on that day.
They left me with the angry mob, to ridicule and shame,
They spat on me and plucked my beard, my body they did maim.
But when my very own father, the Lord of eternity,
Turned His back on me I cried, “why have you forsaken me?"
You cannot know the depths my child, of abandonment... all alone,
Unless you’re separated from God, and hell’s your final home.
You must have courage my dear child, when the way seems so unclear,
When it seems that all is lost, know that I am always near.
For I love you with a love so deep, that I would ne’er betray,
And when in need, just call on me, I’m but a prayer away.
