The Land That Time Forgot
I used the title from Edgar Rice Burroughs to incite some interest in this subject. The Bible has little hidden secrets that when found and put together like a puzzle you find mysteries that you never knew existed. God authored the Bible and it consists of, not only His laws and precepts, but history, and science to name a few.
We know that the dinosaurs existed for we have their bones and foot prints. We have found bones of man that scientists say are millions of years old. At the same time the Bible scholars say that the earth is only six thousand years old. Is the Bible right or is Science right. Was the Neanderthal man the first man or was Adam the first man? These are interesting questions that beg for answers. Let's search for the hidden treasures and put them together for a picture of the answers.

Let's Invcstigate
The Bible says in Genesis 1:1-2, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth", then in verse two it says, "And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters".
When we search the Hebrew we see that the word without form is Tohu: From an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), that is, desert; figuratively a worthless thing; adverbially in vain:- confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness, and void. and bohu from an unused root (meaning to be empty) a vacuity (Strong's exhaustive concordance).

Some teach that God created a chaotic mess in Gen. 1:2 which states that the earth was without form and void, or Tohu in the Hebrew . This is the way the King James translation makes it sound, but Isaiah rebuts the idea in Isaiah 45:18 which says "For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, (Tohu) he formed it to be inhabited": I am the LORD; and there is none else."
Now, the word "was" in verse 2 is hâyâh haw-yaw' A primitive root (compare H1933); to exist, that is, be or become, come to pass, since Isaiah is true, then it must mean "the earth became void" after being created perfect. And, if it was made to be inhabited, it must have been inhabited prior to being made void. Something chaotic must have happened between verse 1 and verse 2 of Genesis 1. God created it perfect and inhabited it and something destroyed it all. Psalms 33:6-9 says, "He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast". Stay with me for we are just getting started.

When we search the Hebrew we see that the word without form is Tohu: From an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), that is, desert; figuratively a worthless thing; adverbially in vain:- confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness (Strong's exhaustive concordance). So, if this is read off hand without investigation we see that God created a worthless thing without shape and desolate, a mudball!
We also see in Jeremiah 4:23-26, "I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger." Cities indicate the presence of man.
Also, when did Lucifer fall? Was it before Adam and Eve or after? Sometime prior to the creation of the natural order, Job 38:4-7 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you know so much. v5 Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? v6 What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone, v7 as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?". Satan became vain about his beauty and position, and his heart became rebellious against God. We know that it was before Adam and Eve for he was there in evil form trying to entice them to sin against God. We see this played out in Heaven in Isa 14:12, "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! Weaken the nations? There must have been nations here prior to his being cast out of Heaven. The word nations in the Hebrew is "goy". Goy is never translated angels but nations of people. We see that Lucifer weakened the nations between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.
Further proof? Genesis 1:10 says, "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good." If He created the earth in verse one then how was it covered with water in verse two? Remember, the word "was" in verse two comes from the verb "to become" not the verb "to be". Therefore the world became void and dark after it was created in verse one.
Am I getting your attention? Look into the New Testament to 2 Peter 3:5-7, "For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished. But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." Now, let's look at the words closely. First of all they were willingly ignorant of the following facts: By the Word of God under the old heavens the earth that then was standing in and out of the water was destroyed by a flood, but the heavens and the earth which are now are reserved for fire in the day of perdition. Now this is not talking about Noah's flood for we know that the heavens and earth prior to Noah's flood are the same heavens and earth which are now. So, what were the heavens and earth that then was which were destroyed by a flood? The world that then was, was prior to the one that is now.
Now, talking about Noah, let's see what God told him after the flood. Let's look at Genesis 9:1 "And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth". He was telling Noah to re-fill the earth. Isn't this the same thing that He told Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28 "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth"? They were to replenish the earth, which means that it was inhabited prior to the command to replenish.
For final proof, Genesis 1:1 states that God created the heavens and the earth. The word create in the Hebrew is Bara which is a primitive root meaning to create from nothing. Elsewhere the word made (asah) is used and means to do or make from something already created. You may make a cake but you certainly can't create one. The word let is used 13 times in the six days of Genesis 1 and 1464 times elsewhere, but is never implied as a creative act. In verse 21 God created whales for the first time. Geneis 2:1-3 states that God finished all the work that He created and made (Bara and Asah).
When God made the rainbow promise in Genesis 9:9-17 it would seem to indicate a previous flood, maybe not conclusively, but with all the above evidence, it would. All of this does not go against the Bible saying that Adam was the first man in 1 Corinthians 15:45-47. Adam was the first man recorded in Bible history and the first of our race and the forefather (bloodline) of Jesus of whom we are all descendents.
The Bible teaches us things but many times people choose to remain ignorant as in 2Pe 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." If we choose to NOT remain ignorant we will see that one day with the Lord is a thousand years here on earth.
Conclusion
The flood of Noah's day didn't stop all life, because the fish in the sea weren't destroyed and the vegetation wasn't destroyed. Genesis 7:22 "All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died." But during the pre-Adamic flood the sun was turned off and everything died (Man, Dinosaur, plants, etc). During the re-making of all things in the six days of Genesis 1, there was a fresh start. Satan's plan has always been to kill, steal and destroy. God created a prefect world and inhabited it with people Isa 45:18 (For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is God!) who formed the earth and made it (He established it; He did not create it empty, He formed it to be inhabited!) (Neanderthals?). Satan totally corrupted the people just as he did in Noah's day, Genesis 6:6-8 so God flooded it and turned off the light (nothing can live without light). With a world flooded and no light to warm it ice formed creating the "Ice Age". God then turned the light back on (Let there be light) and separated the water from the dry land and started over again with Adam. Now we come to Gen. 1;2. Satan had been cast to the earth so he corrupted it totally again, with one exception, eight people, Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives! Since the messiah would come from Adam, God intervened. Satan started again on this side of the flood and is doing his job well. His desire is to corrupt again and this he will always try until his appointed time.
So, stand fast warriors (Investigators), don't be deluded by what some say, look into the Word of God (Evidence) for it will stand true for eternity!
P.S. Just for curiosity sake and coffee talk, do Christians and Scientist differ very much . . Dinosaurs, millions of years for earth?????
