Close To Me
My child, my child, I hear your cry of loneliness and fear
But I have told you in my word that I would 'ere be near,
To comfort and console you to wipe your tears away,
To chase your fear and heal you, all you need to do is pray.
Feel the strength of my arms lay your head upon my breast,
Listen to my heartbeat draw from me sweet rest.
I will be more faithful that any friend could be,
Close your eyes for I am here Just press in close to me.
I love you with a love so deep that you can ne'er believe,
Call to me, just call to me and then wait to receive
My gentle loving presence that can calm the wildest seas,
And I will calm the storm in you if you will just believe.
For only here can you be safe from evil that lurks nearby,
In my loving protecting arms is the peace that satisfies.
This sweet peace is free to all who will come by faith and be,
One who abides within the vine and presses close to me.
Press in close to me hear my every breath,
Press in close to me, find the peaceful rest;
Press in close to me, my arms I open wide,
Waiting just for you dear friend to press against my side.
Press in, press in close to me
Press in close to me.
