Papaw We'll Miss You
A Life of love, what more can we say?
No greater debt could he repay;
To give and give, till there was no more,
Yet give again from his endless store.
Trapped, he was, in a body of pain,
He gave of himself not looking for gain,
But his family knew, more than he thought,
Of the physical struggle he constantly fought.
He loved them all, for they all had a part,
In the boundless regions of his abundant heart.
His character straight, though his body bent,
His commission fulfilled, by the Lord he's been sent,
To a reward far greater than we'll ever know;
Till we've run our race, till we've taken our bow;
Till our last arrow's spent, only then we'll know,
Given another chance, we know he'd still go.
Pap Paw, we'll miss you, for no one could be,
More of an influence than you were to me!
